Product Uses
Most mesityl oxide is converted to methyl isobutyl ketone. Smaller amounts are used as a coatings solvent, in particular for nitrocellulose, cellulose esters and ethers; for natural and synthetic rubber; and for herbicides. Mesityl oxide is also a raw material for hydroperoxides.
